tooth coloured fillings

“Less metal more tooth”

What to expect: 45 – 60min appointment

It’s time to say goodbye to amalgam fillings and hello to the industry standard of white composite resin to fill teeth. At Annandale Dental we’re proud to say we’re mercury free. Amalgam fillings can cause many issues including tooth fracture and cracks which can lead to very costly and invasive treatment. When it comes to dental decay, we ensure that the tooth is disease free before filling it with an aesthetic, tooth coloured filling material known as composite resin. You’ll hardly be able to tell that you have a filling in the first place!

porcelain bridges

“Got a perfect space for tooth shaped object?”

What to expect: 2-3 appointments

If you have a space because of a missing tooth then a dental bridge may be a suitable option available. Basically, a dental bridge is a porcelain tooth that is connected to the natural teeth either side through porcelain crowns. It’s a similar concept to the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Anzac Bridge! Two pillars (aka porcelain crowned teeth) one bridge (aka porcelain bridge). If you have any questions – just ask us.

root canals

“The bad boy of dentistry”

What to expect: 1-3 appointments

We don’t know why root canals have such a bad reputation! Its aim is to save your natural tooth and take away any pain you may be experiencing. It’s all about making you feel better! Root Canal Treatment is more common when a tooth becomes severely broken down, heavily filled, or has had previous trauma. If root canal treatment is indicated then it’s our aim to save the tooth, remove the infection and get you out of pain. Remember that post-root canal treatment the tooth will be more brittle so a porcelain crown is often required to ensure that that the tooth doesn’t crack and need to be removed.

extractions

“We wish you didn’t have to go”

What to expect: 60 – 90min appointment and a day’s rest

Sometimes there’s just nothing we can do to save the tooth. Whether it’s from decay, gum disease or a stubborn wisdom tooth it may be best for the tooth to go. While extractions may not be pleasant, we aim to make it as painless and forgettable as possible so that you don’t have any terrible flashbacks like in the old days of dentistry. We can also discuss the numerous options for replacement if desired.

dentures

“No teeth – No worries. We’ll still help you smile.”

Whether it’s to replace just a few teeth or all, we can help keep you smiling and laughing long into the future! Dentures are removable teeth that help with function and aesthetics – basically filling in those spaces. There are options available when it comes to dentures so it’s probably best to come in for a chat to discuss which option is best for you.
